Spire Insights: Tren Perbankan Digital, Sebuah Transformasi di Era Pandemi

Spire Insights – Perbankan digital dan online telah meningkat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, tetapi pandemi telah memaksa adaptasi hal tersebut dalam skala besar. Menurut analisis Fidelity National Information Services, sebuah perusahaan jasa keuangan internasional, ada lonjakan 200% dalam pendaftaran perbankan seluler selama bulan April 2020. Lonjakan tersebut pun disertai penurunan 50% transaksi di cabang di bulan yang sama, menurut perusahaan data perbankan AS Novantas.

Bagaimana dengan kondisi di dalam negeri? Selama April 2020, kondisi industri perbankan di Indonesia cukup normal walaupun secara umum ekonomi diperkirakan akan menurun akibat pandemi COVID-19. Bank Indonesia juga menyatakan perlambatan ekonomi akibat virus Corona tidak akan berdampak pada perbankan nasional karena kondisi perbankan saat ini jauh lebih stabil dan kokoh dibandingkan krisis 1998.
Ketua Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) Wimboh Santoso memastikan industri perbankan tetap terkelola dengan didukung oleh permodalan yang tinggi dan likuiditas yang cukup, meski ada tekanan yang dialami akibat perlambatan ekonomi.

Dalam laporan “Visi Teknologi Perbankan 2020”, perusahaan-perusahaan konsultan mengamati bahwa berbagai perubahan di sektor perbankan telah diimprovisasi dan dipercepat oleh kondisi pandemi. Dengan begitu, tren yang telah kita lihat akhir-akhir ini seperti pembayaran touchless, peralihan dari transaksi di cabang, pinjaman digital, dan bekerja dari rumah akan menjadi kebiasaan baru yang akan melampaui pandemi, prediksi Accenture. Tantangan bagi lembaga keuangan adalah untuk berpikir jangka panjang serta terus memenuhi kebutuhan nasabah yang mendesak. [the_ad id=”13590″]
Menurut survei yang dilakukan oleh Maybank pada 2020, konsumen Indonesia sangat terbuka terhadap perbankan digital. Selama tiga tahun terakhir, penggunaan bulanan saluran perbankan digital di Indonesia telah tumbuh dua kali lebih cepat dari pasar negara berkembang Asia lainnya. Selain itu, 56% pelanggan non-digital mengatakan bahwa mereka kemungkinan besar akan menggunakan perbankan digital dalam enam bulan ke depan; ini adalah angka tertinggi kedua untuk negara berkembang mana pun di Asia, setelah Myanmar.[the_ad id=”13590″]

Konsep perbankan digital di Indonesia telah dicetuskan sejak 5 tahun silam oleh PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN). Ditandai dengan peluncuran Jenius pada Agustus 2016, BTPN memperkenalkan sebuah aplikasi yang memungkinkan calon nasabah mendaftarkan rekeningnya tanpa perlu mengantre di customer service. Terbukti, inovasi BTPN lewat Jenius mendapatkan respons positif terutama di kalangan generasi muda yang memiliki mobilitas tinggi.
Layanan perbankan digital pun terus bermunculan setelahnya. Sebut saja aplikasi Digibank dari DBS yang mengusung tema Bank Less Live More, layanan video banking di beberapa cabang BCA, fasilitas digital machine banking milik CIMB, dan Tabungan PermataME yang diselenggarakan oleh Bank Permata.[the_ad id=”13590″]

Kesempatan emas dalam hal digitalisasi perbankan di antaranya terdorong oleh pertumbuhan populasi profesional muda dari sekitar 1 juta orang pada 2017 menjadi 2,9 juta orang pada 2020. Penetrasi telepon seluler dan internet juga tidak boleh diabaikan dengan 64% orang Indonesia sudah menikmati kedua fasilitas tersebut. Selain itu, perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat seperti adanya e-KYC, pembayaran via QR code dan NFC turut serta berkontribusi terhadap digitalisasi bank lebih jauh lagi.
Namun, tak ada gading yang tak retak. Kendati prospeknya sangat cerah, bank juga harus mengelola risiko siber terkait karena kepercayaan nasabah adalah salah satu aset utama bank. Ancaman phishing masih merupakan salah satu risiko siber terbesar yang dapat menghantui nasabah di mana data nasabah dapat dicuri via website atau aplikasi tiruan dari suatu bank.[the_ad id=”13590″]

Serupa namun tak sama dengan malware, di mana gadget yang digunakan nasabah bisa saja disusupi oleh virus yang mencoba mengorek data nasabah. Risiko sosial juga membayangi nasabah, mengingat aksi penipuan yang saat ini semakin kreatif di mana penipu akan mencoba untuk meminta nomor rekening, password, maupun kode verifikasi/OTP dari nasabah.
Dilihat dari aspek regulasi dan dukungan pemerintah, saat ini Indonesia juga masih perlu mengejar ketertinggalan dengan inovasi dan ide-ide yang terus berkembang sembari meningkatkan fungsi pengawasan agar digitalisasi perbankan dapat memberikan rasa nyaman dan aman bagi konsumen.[the_ad id=”13590″]
