Hangzhou, TechnoBusiness CN ● Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE: BABA, HKEx: 9988) closed the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival which was held for 11 days today with a gross merchandise value (GMV) of RMB540.3 billion (US$84.54 billion ).
Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival (Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival), which this year is the 13th year it is being held, was attended by 290,000 brands, 65% of them from small businesses, and were able to record the highest GMV in history.

In its official announcement, the 78 brands marketed through Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival saw GMV growth from RMB10 million last year to more than RMB100 million. A total of 698 brands experienced GMV growth from RMB1 million to RMB10 million.
In the annual shopping festival, through the Tmall platform, Alibaba Group offers 500,000 products from 200 merchants that already have environmentally friendly certificates. The agricultural sector from rural areas also recorded an increase in GMV of 20%.

Alibaba Group management further said that the Alibaba 11.11 Global Shopping Festival on Tmall Global this year was enlivened by 1.3 million new products launched by 29,000 brands from outside China. A total of 2,800 brands of which are new participants.

More than 1,600 brands participated in the membership challenge campaign and attracted more than 97 million new members during the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival. Interestingly, more than 1 million packages were delivered by 350 Xiaomanlv, Alibaba’s delivery robot.
The number of packages that Xiaomanlv sent during the festival period even exceeded the number of packages sent by Alibaba Group for the whole year (September 2020-September 2021).
“At this year’s Alibaba 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, we recorded consistent and quality growth. It also reflects China’s dynamic consumption economy,” said Yang Guang, vice president of Alibaba Group.
