How was Tiket.com’s business performance during the pandemic and quarter 2/2021?
As an online travel agent, Tiket.com’s business is certainly affected by the restrictions on everyone’s activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic that the government has set.
But, what about Tiket.com’s business performance after the number of transmission cases began to subside and, according to the Central Statistics Agency, the national economy in second quarter 2021 grew 7.07%?
In the company’s management presentation on Thursday (12/8), Tiket.com’s business performance in the second 2021 quarter was better, even the best, during the pandemic.
Tiket.com’s business in all superior product lines during the second quarter 2021 increased an average of 700% compared to the same period last year. It signifies that people want to travel immediately.
Tiket.com’s airline ticket business during the second quarter 2021 increased by 400%, the accommodation business grew by 600%, the entertainment ticket business and travel essentials in To Do tickets increased by 1.100%.
Then, the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Tiket.com Gaery Undarsa said that the download number of Tiket.com also increased 2.5 times compared to the same period last year.
“On behalf of Tiket.com, I would like to thank all parties for the support given to Tiket.com so that we can celebrate our 10th anniversary,” continued Gaery.
Tiket.com was born thanks to technology-based innovations which, according to the Group Deputy CEO of Spire Research and Consulting Jeffrey Bahar, succeeded in disrupting the traditional ticket business because of its convenience.
“Initially people looking for airline tickets or booking hotels had to go to a travel agent. With online travel agents, one of which is Tiket.com, people can get it through their respective laptops or smartphones,” he said.
What Tiket.com offers is a solution for the travel market. As a result, as seen today, continued Jeffrey, almost no more people who want to buy tickets come to the travel agent’s office.
“One or two people who come to the travel agent’s office may still be there, but very few in number and it’s more for buying special travel packages,” he explained.●
