Businessman Richard Branson’s Virgin Hotels is constantly updating Lucy’s app to become more sophisticated.
California, TechnoBusiness Travel • Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel chain developed by Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, on Tuesday (15/6) announced an update to its Lucy app.

The latest version of the Lucy app offers more and more features that allow guests to do various things only from their smartphones without meeting the hotel staff in person.
That way, guests can verify their identity through the mobile application easily and safely. Moreover, through the application, guests can now also tip staff without cash.

According to Doug Carrillo, Chief Marketing Officer of Virgin Hotels, such development is in keeping with the concept first launched in 2015 which wanted to make the Lucy app a “personal comfort assistant” for Virgin Hotels guests.
Even when in the room guests can adjust the lighting from the palm of their own hand, adding to the ability of the Lucy application that can be used to lock doors, turn on the TV, order room service, and so on.

“In the Age of Contactless Everything, it is imperative that we continue to prioritize the safety and security of our guests,” said Denise Walker, Virgin Hotels VP of Information Technology.
However, the new Lucy app features can only be felt by Virgin Hotels customers in Nashville, Dallas, Chicago, and Las Vegas. To enjoy these features, guests must also join Virgin Hotels’ loyalty and preference program, The Know.•
