Jakarta, GobarYuk.com ● Harga Brompton, sepeda lipat premium buatan Brompton Bicycle yang berbasis di Greenford, London, yang sempat fenomenal di Indonesia pada awal pandemi, kini hancur.

Seiring geliat bersepeda yang mulai reda, harga sepeda puluhan juta rupiah itu pun turut melandai. Harga Brompton S6L yang semula Rp36 juta, menurut Detik.com, saat ini hanya Rp30 juta.
Harga Brompton M6L yang setahun lalu ditawarkan Rp55 juta, sekarang hanya Rp51 juta. Sepeda-sepeda merek lain, baik dari folding bike, mountain bike, maupun road bike, rata-rata turun harganya.

Meski harganya di Indonesia anjlok, harga Brompton di Amerika Utara (mencakup Amerika Serikat dan Kanada) tetap perkasa karena didorong oleh permintaan konsumen yang konsisten.
Berdasarkan data perusahaan, pabrikan Brompton menjual lebih dari 70.000 unit sepeda setiap tahunnya. Dalam setahun terakhir, penjualannya di Amerika Utara naik lebih dari 50% atau naik 76% dibanding pada 2019.
Manajemen perusahaan menyatakan permintaan konsumen terhadap sepeda Brompton terus meningkat secara eksponensial dan tidak ada tanda-tanda akan berhenti.
Permintaan Brompton di seluruh toko di New York City, termasuk peritel regional REI, tetap bagus. Karena itu, harga Brompton juga tetap tinggi dan stabil, tidak seperti di Indonesia.

Bahkan, Brompton berencana membuka toko baru di San Francisco akhir tahun nanti dan dua toko lagi pada tahun depan demi memenuhi permintaan pelanggan yang masih harus indent sampai sekarang.
Saking seriusnya ingin menggarap pasar Amerika, Brompton bahkan menggaet CEO Worth Juliet Scott-Croxford untuk menjadi Presiden Brompton Amerika Utara.
“Brompton adalah merek yang kuat, komunitas yang terlibat, dan produk luar biasa yang menyentuh hati dan pikiran para pengendaranya,” kata Croxford.
