Teachmint Asal India Diluncurkan di Asia Tenggara, Termasuk Indonesia

Jakarta, TechnoBusiness ID ● Teachmint, platform platform pengajaran online global yang dikembangkan oleh Mihir Gupta, Payoj Jain, Divyansh Bordia, dan Anshuman Kumar di India pada Mei 2020, hari ini resmi diluncurkan di seluruh wilayah Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia.
Platform Teachmint memungkinkan para pengajar dan sekolah mendigitalisasi ruang kelas hanya dalam hitungan menit. Itu berarti platform tersebut semakin mengukuhkan pola belajar online, hybrid, dan jarak jauh seperti yang dibutuhkan selama pandemi COVID-19.

Sebagai platform pengajaran online, Teachmint dirancang mampu mengelola semua aktivitas pembelajaran seperti melakukan kegiatan belajar-mengajar secara live, merekam, menyimpan materi, menyusun, dan berbagi materi pembelajaran.
Sejak diluncurkan pertama kali, Teachmint telah tersedia dalam 20 bahasa dan diadopsi oleh lebih dari 10 juta pengguna dan 10.000 sekolah. Demi melanjutkan visinya, kini Teachmint memasuki pasar Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia, dengan fokus mendigitalisasi dunia pendidikan.
Mihir Gupta, co-founder dan CEO Teachmint, mengatakan Indonesia merupakan salah satu pasar internasional utamanya. “Kami sangat senang meluncurkan platform ini guna mendukung pemberdayaan sekolah dan pengajar di wilayah ini,” katanya.
Platform Teachmint mengukuhkan proses pengajaran secara online, hybrid, dan jarak jauh.
Meski diluncurkan hari ini, Teachmint sudah bergerilya di pasar Indonesia lebih dulu. Salah satunya dengan menggandeng Ira Mirawati, dosen Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, Teachmint Indonesia sudah membantu pengajaran sekitar 150.000 pengguna.
Ira, nominator “Best of Learning and Education” TikTok Awards Indonesia 2020, mengatakan Teachmint merupakan learning management system yang portabel, cukup mudah digunakan oleh pelajar dan pengajar karena berjalan di aplikasi Google Play dan App Store, dengan fitur yang lengkap.

Dalam perjalanannya, walau baru berusia dua tahun, Teachmint telah berhasil mengumpulkan pendanaan hingga US$118 juta dari Rocketship.vc, Lightspeed, Learn Capital, Goodwater Capital, Vulcan Capital, Better Capital, CM Ventures, Epiq Capital, dan Titan Capital.
Pendanaan Seri B senilai US$100 juta yang diperolehnya menjadikan Teachmint sebagai perusahaan rintisan (startup) di bidang pendidikan tercepat di dunia yang sukses meraih pendanaan senilai itu hanya dalam 16 bulan sejak diluncurkan.
Indonesia memang pasar yang menggiurkan untuk digarap, termasuk oleh platform edutech seperti Teachmint. Menurut COO Spire Research and Consulting Jeffrey Bahar, sekalipun dunia pendidikan dan pelatihan telah diramaikan oleh banyak startup, peluangnya masih sangat terbuka luas.

“Tentu, startup-startup edutech pendatang baru harus bisa mengusung diferensiasi dari yang sudah ada supaya lebih mudah mendapatkan ceruk pasar. Kalau sama dan harus bersaing dengan yang sudah besar akan membutuhkan effort yang lebih besar,” ujarnya.
Walau demikian, berbekal modal dan pengalaman yang ada, Teachmint diyakini bakal mampu bersaing dengan startup edutech yang sudah eksis di Indonesia seperti Ruangguru, Zenius, Terampil, dan lain sebagainya. “Pasarnya masih besar. Jangan khawatir,” kata Jeffrey.●
