Singapura, TechnoBusiness SG ● Pace, perusahaan fintech Asia yang melayani buy now pay later asal Singapura, pada Minggu (21/11) mengumumkan telah berhasil mengumpulkan pendanaan dalam putaran Seri A senilai US$40 juta.
Pendanaan itu diperoleh dari sejumlah investor terkemuka, antara lain UOB Venture Management (Singapura), Marubeni Ventures (Jepang), Atinum Partners (Korea Selatan), AppWorks (Taiwan), dan serangkaian kantor keluarga dari Jepang dan Indonesia.

Investor sebelumnya, yakni Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia, Alpha JWC, dan Genesis Alternative Ventures juga turut dalam pendanaan terbaru tersebut. Pendanaan tersebut akan digunakan untuk memperluas teknologi, operasi, dan pengembangan bisnis.
Menurut pendiri dan CEO Pace Turochas “T” Fuad, pendanaan terbaru tersebut akan mengantarkan perusahaannya mencapai nilai rata-rata Gross Merchandise Run sebesar US$1 miliar pada 2022 dan menumbuhkan basis pengguna sebesar 25 kali dalam 12 bulan ke depan.
Pace menargetkan memperoleh Gross Merchandise Run US$1 miliar pada 2022.
Sejak didirikan pada Januari 2020 dan diluncurkan pada 2021, hingga kini Pace telah memiliki lebih dari 3.000 titik penjualan di seluruh wilayah operasi di Singapura, Malaysia, Hong Kong, dan Thailand. Pasca-pendaan, Pace akan ekspansi ke Jepang, Korea Selatan, dan Taiwan.

“Investasi dari beberapa investor paling sukses dan mapan ini menandakan keyakinan bahwa Pace adalah pemain buy now pay later terkemuka di Asia,” kata Turocas. “Kawasan ini diharapkan menjadi pasar buy now pay later dengan pertumbuhan tercepat di dunia.”
Paul Ng, Direktur Eksekutif UOB Venture Management, mengatakan bersedia mengucurkan pendanaan karena cukup terkesan dengan visi yang jelas dari Pace dan sang pendiri, pertumbuhan yang cepat, dan pengalaman yang luas dalam menciptakan inklusi keuangan.
“Industri keuangan di Asia berubah secara dinamis, tetapi Pace telah berhasil membangun keunggulan di pasar dengan memanfaatkan kurva konsumen lokal untuk memantapkan dirinya sebagai pemain dominan dengan visi yang jelas,” tambah Joon Oh, Direktur Eksekutif Atinum Partners Co. Ltd.●
