Terpukul Pandemi, Brown Paper Tickets Jatuh ke Tangan Events.com
Events.com mengakuisisi pusat penjualan tiket global Brown Paper Tickets.

California, TechnoBusiness ID ● Events.com, platform penjualan tiket acara yang berbasis di La Jolla, California, Amerika Serikat, pada Selasa (25/10) mengumumkan akuisisi pusat penjualan tiket global Brown Paper Tickets atau yang sering juga disingkat BPT.
Events.com melakukan aksi korporasi itu karena Brown Paper Tickets yang berpusat di Seattle, Washington, telah memiliki pelanggan dari 120 negara. Teknologi Brown Paper Tickets telah memproses dan membayar penjualan tiket dan pendaftaran ke penyelenggara acara lebih dari US$1 miliar.

Berbekal pengalaman 20 tahunan membantu menjual tiket acara di seluruh dunia, tim teknologi Brown Paper Tickets menjadi tambahan kekuatan yang sangat baik bagi Events.com. Akuisisi itu akan memperluas jejak Events.com dan memperkuat sumber daya Brown Paper Tickets.
Sayangnya, transaksi dua perusahaan besar di industri event organizer itu tak turut diumumkan nilainya. Tapi, manajemen Brown Paper Tickets mengakui bahwa perusahaannya “terpaksa” jatuh ke tangan Events.com, mitranya, karena sangat terpukul oleh pandemi.
“Kami bangga membawa tim Brown Papers Tickets ke dalam keluarga Events.com.”
Seperti diketahui, begitu banyak acara yang harus dibatalkan karena pandemi. Brown Paper Tickets dengan dukungan keuangan dari Events.com telah membayar event organizer lebih dari 39 juta dolar sejak Januari 2020 dan telah memproses puluhan ribu pengembalian uang tiket.
“Kami bangga bermitra dengan Brown Paper Tickets dan mendukung keputusannya untuk mengembalikan uang kepada pemegang tiket, penyelenggara acara, tempat, dan mitra hiburan yang terdampak akibat pandemi,” kata Mitch Thrower, founder dan CEO Events.com.

Menurutnya, itu bukan hanya hal yang benar untuk dilakukan, tetapi penegasan kuat dari salah satu prinsip inti Events.com, yaitu membantu penyelenggara acara dan peserta. “Kami bangga membawa tim Brown Papers Tickets ke dalam keluarga Events.com,” katanya.
Tidak ada komentar apa pun dari manajemen Brown Paper Tickets. Pascakuisisi, perusahaan tersebut akan tetap beroperasi dengan nama yang sama dan tim yang sama, bahkan akan ditambah lebih banyak lagi pada tahun depan.●
