Jakarta, TechnoBusiness ID ● KitaBeli, platform perdagangan sosial (social commerce) produk-produk fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) untuk pasar tier 2 dan 3 di Indonesia, hari ini mengumumkan telah meraih pendanaan Seri B senilai US$20 juta.
Pendanaan itu diperoleh dari investor terdahulu seperti AC Ventures dan GoVentures serta investor baru InnoVen Capital yang dipimpin oleh Glade Brook Capital Partners. Pendanaan itu akan digunakan untuk ekspansi pasar nasional yang lebih luas dan meluncurkan produk baru.

Manajemen KitaBeli menyatakan ekspansi dilakukan pada waktu yang tepat karena kota-kota tier 2 dan 3 memiliki potensi pasar lebih dari US$100 miliar dengan lebih dari 200 juta konsumen yang berkontribusi hingga 50% Produk Domestik Bruto.
“Dengan memanfaatkan jaringan sosial offline dari pemimpin komunitas lokal atau mitra, kami dapat menjangkau ribuan pengguna baru yang melakukan pembelian secara online untuk pertama kalinya dalam hidup mereka,” kata co-founder dan CEO KitaBeli Prateek Chaturvedi.
Kinerja KitaBeli tumbuh 10 kali lipat dalam enam bulan terakhir.
Strategi itu telah membantu KitaBeli untuk membangun loyalitas pelanggan sekaligus memberikan margin jangka panjang yang lebh baik ketimbang kompetitor. Kapital dan pengalaman Glade Brook Capital Partners memperkuat keunggulan tersebut.
Linda Guo, partner di Glade Brook Capital Partners, mengungkapkan perusahaannya tertarik untuk mengucurkan pendanaan Seri B bersama AC Ventures, GoVentures, dan InnoVen Capital, karena percaya akan ada gelombang pertumbuhan e-commerce berikutnya di Indonesia.
